About
Juventutem International Federation promotes the True, the Good, and the Beautiful, and, in particular, the offering of the Traditional Latin Mass.
Based at Holy Innocents in Manhattan, Juventutem NYC is the local chapter of this global movement and network of Catholic young adults, ages ~18-40, fostering the sanctification of youth worldwide according to the Roman traditions of the Church.
The name ‘Juventutem’ is the Latin word for youth and derives from the opening prayers of the Ancient Use of the Mass.
“Dear young people, the Church depends on you! She needs your lively faith, your creative charity and the energy of your hope. Your presence renews, rejuvenates and gives new energy to the Church.”
– His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI

Judica Me (Psalm 42)
Antiphon
V./ Introíbo ad altáre Dei.
R./ Ad Deum, qui lætíficat iuventútem meam.
Psalm 42 1-5
Iúdica me, Deus, et discérne causam meam de gente non sancta: ab hómine iníquo et dolóso érue me.
Quia tu es, Deus, fortitúdo mea: quare me repulísti, et quare tristis incédo, dum afflígit me inimícus?
Emítte lucem tuam et veritátem tuam: ipsa me deduxérunt, et adduxérunt in montem sanctum tuum et in tabernácula tua.
Et introíbo ad altáre Dei: ad Deum, qui lætíficat iuventútem meam.
Confitébor tibi in cíthara, Deus, Deus meus: quare tristis es, ánima mea, et quare contúrbas me?
Spera in Deo, quóniam adhuc confitébor illi: salutáre vultus mei, et Deus meus.
Glória Patri, et Fílio, et Spirítui Sancto
Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper: et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
Antiphon
V./ Introíbo ad altáre Dei.
R./ Ad Deum, qui lætíficat iuventútem meam.
Antiphon
V./ I will go in to the altar of God.
R./ To God who giveth joy to my youth.
Psalm 42 1-5
Judge me, O God, and distinguish my cause from the nation which is not holy: deliver me from the unjust and deceitful man.
For Thou, O God, art my strength: why hast Thou cast me off? and why go I sorrowful whilst the enemy afflicteth me?
Send forth Thy light and Thy truth: they have conducted me and brought me unto Thy holy mount, and into Thy tabernacles.
And I will go in to the altar of God: to God who giveth joy to my youth.
To Thee, O God, my God, I will give praise upon the harp; why art thou sad, O my soul, and why dost thou disquiet me?
Hope in God, for I will still give praise to Him: the salvation of my countenance and my God.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Antiphon
V./ I will go in to the altar of God.
R./ To God who giveth joy to my youth.
Our Lady Help of Christians, pray for us!
We formally renew our commitments annually on the Feast of Our Lady Help of Christians, May 24th, together with all chapters of Juventutem around the world. This day marks the founding of Juventutem on May 24, 2006 in Bern, Switzerland where the Bureau of the Federation is headquartered to this day.
May 24th is the Feast of Our Lady Help of Christians. Following the victory of Christendom over the Turks at Lepanto, in the Ionian islands (1571), Pope St. Pius V, had inserted in the litanies to the Blessed Virgin the invocation to Our Lady Help of Christians. It was also under this title that Pope Pius VII created a feast day, on the 24th of May, in honor of the Virgin Mary, to express his gratitude for deliverance in 1814 from exile and the captivity imposed on him by Napoleon I.
Patron of the Federation
Juventutem chose St. John Bosco as its special patron - the great apostle of the youths!
O glorious Saint John Bosco, who in order to lead young people to the feet of the divine Master and to mould them in the light of faith and Christian morality didst heroically sacrifice thyself to the very end of thy life and didst set up a proper religious Institute destined to endure and to bring to the farthest boundaries of the earth thy glorious work, obtain also for us from Our Lord a holy love for young people who are exposed to so many seductions in order that we may generously spend ourselves in supporting them against the snares of the devil, in keeping them safe from the dangers of the world, and in guiding them, pure and holy, in the path that leads to God. Amen.
